"The Cloud" is a social satirical Shortfilm by Nicolas Ritter, focused on the modern urban lifestyle, that is increasingly based on the internet, smart phones, social media and other web-based technological innovations of the information age. From an ironical utopistic point of view of a staged documentary about a web coaching institution, the film reflects trends and changes of the modern socioenvironment dependent on the internet.

The Shortfilm displays a generational conflict and a communicative gap in society, separating the web affine young generation of „digital natives“, who are born into the web age, from the older generations of „digital immigrants“, who have a less intuitive understanding of the new internet-based technologies.
